Family Doors
The Family ‘Detection Of Overall Risk Screen’ (known as the DOORS) is an evidence-based universal screening framework for keeping families safe. The Family DOORS App is built from the original Family Law DOORS (McIntosh 2012).
Client Screening Tool
Family DOORS stands for Detection of Overall Risk Screen. If you choose to participate in the process, it will help our practitioners identify and respond to your family’s safety and wellbeing risks.
Respectful
We are always respectful of your family’s unique requirements. Completing Family DOORS gives you an opportunity to let us know about any tough stuff you’re up against. Our research shows it’s helpful – but it’s not compulsory.
Flexible
Choose from online by app, pen-and-paper, and face-to-face interview. We have different versions for children, young people and adults. We also have accessibility features.
Customised
The Family DOORS screening process is tailored to your circumstances. This means you won’t have to answer questions that aren’t relevant to you.
Client Screening Tool
Backed by Research
Risk screening with Family DOORS has a proud, decade-long history of research and evaluation. With our academic partners, we have completed studies that show it works for our clients.
